License Similarity

Find FCC licenses (ELS, ULS, ICFS, ICFS satellites, LMS) with similar legal, RF environment, and terrain characteristics
Search any FCC license (ELS, ULS, ICFS, ICFS satellites, LMS) and find sites with a similar spectrum allocation footprint, RF neighbor environment, and terrain context. Matches are precomputed under a versioned scoring config, not scored in your browser.

Beta - Covers all license sources. Features precomputed; hydrology distance pending.

    How scoring works

Matches are precomputed under scoring config v -- not scored in your browser. Each match is scored on three layers, combined as 0.5×Legal + 0.3×RF environment + 0.2×Terrain over whichever layers are computable for the pair; a coverage penalty is already baked into the stored score, so a Legal-only pair caps at 50%.

    • Legal - overlap of FCC allocation-table entries (weighted Jaccard: entries weighted by the fraction of each site's bandwidth they cover).
    • RF environment - the deployed neighborhood inside each site's coordination radius: service mix (double weight), nearest co-service neighbor, neighbor count, density, neighbor power. Counts compare on a log scale.
    • Terrain - elevation, slope, two-scale topographic position (TPI), and Weiss slope-position class at the site.

Weight sliders have been removed on purpose - weights are fixed by the scoring config above, the same for every visitor. Click any subscore in the table for an illustrative feature-level breakdown of that pair (the subscore itself is always the stored value, not recomputed here).
